Out of pocket for a few days

I will be out of pocket for the next few days as I travel to Marks, Mississippi to watch my son play in the MAIS Class A State Basketball Tournament. It is an exciting time for all of us, but bittersweet. This is his senior season.

I've been getting tired of "talking heads" on TV lately. So I thought a little comic relief was in order.

Since the Super Bowl, it has been pretty slim pickins for status updates. Seems people were more into sharing clever photos and writing anything of their own... But here are some of the highlights...

What's your favorite signature food item from a local restaurant?

Today, I had the privilege of eating at Strawn's Eat Shop Also on Airline Drive — and yes, I ate a piece of strawberry pie.

The experience made me think about other Signature Dishes I enjoy, such as:

The Muffy at Fertittas

Bread pudding at Superior Steakhouse

The cheeseburger at Nicky's on Viking.. Ok, I know this isn't their signature dish, but it rocks and is cheap.

McDonald's french fries (of course)

Ralph & Kacoos hushpuppies

An aside... I need to stop easting so much fried food...
